The color of the switch housing determines how the electrical contact responds when the panel door is close :
- White Variant (SDV-DSW): Operates as Push to OFF. Closing the panel door physically pushes the button down, which breaks (turns off) the circuit. This is ideal for panel interior lighting. Opening the door releases the button, automatically switching the internal lights on.
- Black Variant (SDV-DSB / SDV-DS): Operates as Push to ON. Closing the panel door pushes the plunger down to complete (turn on) the circuit. This is commonly used for safety interlocks, cooling fan activation, or panel-closed signaling systems to ensure power only runs when the enclosure is securely sealed.
