Benlo DOL (Direct-On-Line) motor starter is an electrical device manufactured by Bentec India Ltd. to safely start and operate single-phase and three-phase motors. The "DOL" refers to the starting method, where the motor is connected directly to the full line voltage. Benlo motor starters are widely used in India for both residential and industrial applications.

  1. Pressing the start button energizes the contactor coil.
  2. The contactor closes, applying the full supply voltage to the motor terminals.
  3. The motor starts at full power and draws a high initial inrush current.
  4. An auxiliary contact holds the contactor closed, so the start button can be released.
  5. To stop the motor, the stop button is pressed, which de-energizes the contactor and breaks the power circuit.
