1. Function and working principle
- The primary function of a load break switch is to connect or disconnect electrical circuits that are carrying normal load currents.
- It operates by mechanically separating contacts within a specialized arc-quenching chamber.
- The arc generated during contact separation is rapidly cooled and extinguished by various mediums, such as SF6 gas, vacuum, or compressed air, depending on the switch type.
